The incident took place at the Vallenar View Mobile Home Park in Ketchikan. The damage is estimated at approximately $100.00. A suspect was developed in this case but is still under investigation. David L. Million, age 54 of Palmer, reported that one of his work vehicles had been stolen in the community of Thorne Bay. Million told AST that the vehicle had been parked outside of the Tackle Shack prior to the theft. Million advised AST that he had last seen the truck during the late afternoon hours on October 21, 2012. The vehicle was described to AST as a silver colored, 2012 Ford F-250 bearing Washington registration: B78971U. On 10-22-2012 at approximately 0900 hrs, USFS law enforcement on Prince of Wales reported that a vehicle matching the description of the stolen truck was currently parked at the Balls Lake Picnic Area. AST and Million responded and positively identified the vehicle as the work truck taken from Million's work site. Singleton was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Craig Jail. Bail on the warrant was $2,000. The vehicle was in the ditch on the Northbound side of the Highway. On-scene investigation revealed that the driver, and sole occupant, Zachary Green, age 19, of Willow, was driving home after delivering newspapers and fell asleep while driving. He was operating a 1983, blue, Jeep pick-up truck. Green was traveling Southbound when his vehicle crossed the centerline and the Northbound lane of travel before entering the ditch and rolling over. Green was pronounced deceased on scene and next of kin and the SME have been notified. Troopers contacted the occupant and operator of the vehicle Donald Barron, age 60 of Kodiak. Investigation revealed Barron was Driving While Impaired by alcohol. Barron was arrested, transported, and remanded to Kodiak Police Department where bail was set at $500. Investigation revealed Matthew A. Reid, age 22, of Kodiak was driving a vehicle without a valid license and did not have liability insurance on the vehicle. Alaska State Troopers in Aniak responded to assist. Investigation revealed that Chaz Walker, age 19, of Anvik, damaged property of a family member, physically assaulted a family member, and placed a family member in fear and left the scene. AST and the VPSO located Walker driving a 2003 Toyota Tacoma on the Main Road. Walker was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated by alcohol and illegal consumed alcohol. While conducting the investigation Chadwick Walker, age 33, of Anvik caused a disturbance by failing to disperse after being ordered to and impeded a investigation. Both Chaz and Chadwick were taken into custody. Alcohol was a factor in the incident. Both parties were later transported to Bethel where they were remanded to YKCC. Investigation revealed on 10/20/12 at about 1500 hours, while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, 32 YOA Jason John Maillelle of Grayling, physically assaulted an adult female relative and broke the bathroom door at their Third Street residence. Maillelle was actively on probation for a prior Criminal Mischief 4 conviction. Maillelle was arrested for Assault 4-DV, Criminal Mischief 5-DV, and Probation Violation. He was transported to YKCC in Bethel where he was remanded without bail. Investigation resulted in the identification of a suspect, a resident of Bethel, Alaska. During the subsequent investigation and interview of the suspect numerous debit/credit card information for other residents in the YK Delta region were found in the possession of the suspect. Investigation by State Troopers revealed he twice sent the female letters through the United States Postal Service. A warrant was requested for Newman on two counts of Unlawful Contact 1. On 10/22/12, Newman was contacted and arrested in Bethel. Newman was transported to YKCC where he was remanded without bail. Upon making contact with the driver and only occupant, Jack Adams, 24, of Fairbanks, AST recovered three copper heat exchangers worth approximately $5,500.
