Investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle, April Cox age 25 of Wasilla, was driving while her license was revoked for a points system violation. Cox was issued a misdemeanor citation with a court hearing at a later date and she was released at the scene. Upon arrival, Troopers contacted 19-year-old Vincenzo Yacovelli of Wasilla. Yacovelli subsequently fought with Troopers and was placed into custody. Yacovelli was found to have a prescription bottle containing a schedule IA controlled substance, and a small baggie containing a schedule VIA controlled substance. Yacovelli was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he subsequently introduced a schedule IA controlled substance into the Correctional Facility. Yacovelli was remanded and held on $9500 bail. While on scene, AST contacted Jesse Skaggs, age 29 of Wasilla, and investigation revealed Skaggs had an outstanding arrest warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Theft IV. Skaggs was arrested, transported, and remanded to MSPT where he was held on $1,000 bail. AST responded to the Village to investigate. Investigation revealed that Alec Peterson, age 50 of Nondalton was intoxicated when he crashed his Honda four-wheeler in to the ditch. Peterson did not receive any injuries in the crash. Alec Peterson was arrested for DUI and was transported to the King Salmon jail. AST investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen the day prior from a local Kenai business. The owner of the vehicle, Laura Maciariello, 50 yoa of Soldotna, was unaware the vehicle had been stolen until it was located by AST. The investigation further revealed unknown person(s) removed all four tires as well as the stereo equipment from the vehicle. The estimated cost of the missing items is about $2,000.00. Investigation revealed John William Wysong, age 38 of Wasilla was operating his 2003 Honda XR400R motorcycle south on Pond Lilly Street when a calf moose ran into the roadway colliding with Wysong. Wysong was transported to Providence Hospital in Anchorage with life threatening injuries by Life Med helicopter. Wysong was not wearing a helmet at the time of collision. Investigation is ongoing.
