The driver was identified as Tricia Clough, 35 years old of Craig. Subsequent investigation revealed that Clough's Washington State Driver's License was currently suspended. She was issued a misdemeanor summons to appear in Craig District Court for Driving While License Suspended. The vehicle was pushed off the roadway and Clough left the scene in a cab. Investigation revealed Spooner had harvested a Tier I Caribou with a proxy permit and failed to destroy the trophy value of the antlers. Hoonah AWT troopers had observed Davies onboard the F/V Blue Mist with his net still fishing more than 20 minutes after the gillnet fishery had closed in ADF&G District 15C north of Juneau. Davies had contested that his net had become tangled with a sport fishing boat, and that had caused him to not be able to pull his net in by the closure of the fishing period. Davies was convicted of a strict liability violation offense and ordered to pay $1000/$750 suspended and forfeit $200 worth of fish. Rogers was issued a citation to appear in the Glennallen Court for taking a cow caribou in a bull only hunt. Malcolm, age 34 of Homer pled guilty to one count of operating a commercial gillnet during a closed period in district 15C north of Juneau. Malcolm was fined $500 and ordered to forfeit $283.40 in illegally taken fish. The conviction was completed as a strict liability offense. A second count of operating a commercial gillnet during a closed period was dismissed by the Juneau DAO as part of the plea agreement. The charges stemmed from two separate incidents in July of 2012 in which Malcolm was first video taped by Alaska Wildlife Troopers fishing north of the Point Bridgett line and then the following day when he was observed by an Alaska Wildlife Trooper aircraft fishing south of the Boat Harbor line. Both incidents occurred in district 15C which covers southern Lynn Canal. Commercial fisherman netted over 2.3 million dollars worth of salmon in district 15C during the July 8 through July 11 fishing period. The parcel was mailed from a herbal supply company out of Tallahassee, FL. The addressee was contacted and gave consent to have the parcel opened. The parcel was opened and located inside the parcel were twenty seven (27) 5 gram packets of suspected spice. The packets were marked and being marketed as Potpourri. The investigation is continuing by the WAANT unit and the USPIS. During the investigation it was determined that Hudson was in possession of heroin. Hudson was arrested on one count of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV and remanded to the jail in Ketchikan. Hudson will be arraigned tomorrow at 1330 hours.
