B Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Copper Center Case number: AK12258725 Type: Assault 4 DV and DUI Text: On 12-26-2012 at approximately 0301 hours, AST received a report of an assault in Copper Center. AST investigation resulted in Jeannette Tyone 24 YOA of Copper Center being arrested for domestic violence assault in the fourth degree. While investigating the reported assault, AST also contacted Douglas Ode 52 YOA of Copper Center. Subsequent investigation resulted in Ode being arrested for DUI. Both subjects were transported to Glennallen Post and held pending arraignments. During the 911 call dispatchers heard a disturbance in the background. EMS was dispatched to the residence but staged nearby and waited until AST could verify the scene was safe. No troopers were on duty. An off-duty trooper was notified and responded to the residence. The subsequent investigation led to 48-year-old Peter Meliah being transported to Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center (PKIMS) by ambulance. Upon arrived at the hospital Meliah bolted from the ambulance and ran. After a short search of the surrounding area Meliah was located by Kodiak Police. Meliah was turned over to AST. Meliah was evaluated at PKIMC and deemed fit to be released to the custody of the Kodiak Jail. At the time of this incident Meliah was subject to conditions of release resulting from a recent misdemeanor arrest. Those release conditions prohibited Meliah from possessing or consuming alcohol. Meliah was remanded on a single charge of Violation of Release Conditions (a Class A Misdemeanor). Meliah was held without bail pending an arraignment. During the search, a second person was found to have escaped. She was identified as 24-year-old Holly Charlie. Charlie was contacted a short distance from the center. Charlie was also found to be violating her conditions of probation. Charlie was arrested and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center (FCC) where she was held without bail.
